We Will Meet Again
Antonio “Tony” Castaneda was welcomed home by our Lord on Monday, March 14th, 2022, in Odessa, TX.
Tony was born on January 14th, 1974 in El Paso, TX to parents Marylou Sanchez and Antonio Castaneda. He was a hard worker who always took pride in the work he did, and has been a very talented mechanic for many years. Tony was openly proud of his beautiful wife Rosy and all of their children. Whenever he talked about his family, he did it with a smile on his face. Tony was a dedicated husband and a loving father whose first priority was always making sure his family was taken care of.
He had character that drew people in, and a contagious smile for everyone. Tony loved to laugh and was always ready with a joke or a story to share. At work, he was the kind of co-worker that others are lucky to have. He would go out of his way to lend a helping hand and a positive attitude. Anyone who met him knew that friends like him don’t come along very often.
One thing about Tony is that he wasn’t a quitter. If there was a problem, he was determined to fix it. And that stayed true even when he fell ill and began fighting for is life with an ugly case of pneumonia. As it turned out, the battle for his life was between him and God. He could have easily beaten the illness, but he couldn’t beat God. That Monday afternoon, as he was surrounded by his loving family and the prayers from friends in the outside world, Tony stepped into eternity to be with our Lord and await our presence there.
As we celebrate the life and love of our Tony, we can be certain of this: our lives are better because he was part of it. And later, when it’s our turn to begin the next chapter of life, Tony will be there to greet us with that same smile we all love, and maybe even a joke. We will meet again.
