Armando Martinez

Armando A. Martinez, a Vietnam Veteran Born September 4,1949 in Laredo, Texas and passed away 11:16AM on Monday April 17, 2023.

A life-long Cowboys fan, he thought “every year was their year”. He moved to Odessa in 1984 and worked in the oil and gas industry until 1998 when he suffered a stroke. He will be greatly missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Dominga Almazan Martinez, sister-in-law Karolyn Kolb Martinez, brother-in-law Jesse Dominguez and nephew Alex Ramirez.

He is survived by his wife Beatrice Martinez of 52 years, his daughter & her husband, Elizabeth and Rudy Robles, son, Ricardo Martinez, son & his wife, Armando and Dollye Martinez Jr., and daughter, Daniella Martinez. Siblings; Olga Rubio, Gloria Dominguez, Javier Martinez (of San Antonio), and Ricardo Martinez (of Kerrville). Armando loved his family, his bubble-gum, and most importantly, his grandchildren. Kristina Herron, Joseph Robles, Kristian Robles, Isaac Martinez, Caitlyn Martinez, Ricki Martinez, John Gonzales, Sebastian Martinez, Nathan Valenzuela, Sascha Martinez, Nikolas Valenzuela, Camila Martinez. And one great-grandchild, Joshua Tucker (JT) Herron and many nieces and nephews. Most lovingly known by his grandchildren as “Grandpa Dude” and “Honey”, he cherished his grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 22, 2023 at 10AM at Martinez Funeral Home with a celebratory lunch at De Los Angeles 919 FM 1936, Odessa, TX 79763. In lieu of flowers please send to Martinez Funeral Home. We would like to say thank you to Martinez Funeral Home, Pastoral team of Renew Life Church of Midland, and the 5th floor staff members at MCH for the compassion and kindness that was shown to our family.

The family would like to encourage one another to lean on one another and their relationship with God, as it gives hope for what comes next, and brings peace each passing day.
