Adam Diaz Sanchez 76 passed away Monday December 18,2023. Adam Diaz Sanchez was born in Ft. Stockton, TX on March 28, 1947. He graduated from Ector High School in Odessa, TX. He married Amparo Garza on August 27, 1971, in Odessa, TX. He worked as a general laborer for 55 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and proudly served in the Army. He was awarded: A Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device (1960), the Valorous Unit Award, and the Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar
He was an avid sports lover especially his Odessa High Bronchos as well as any other team associated with his nieces and nephews, He was witty, sarcastic, and loved to banter with family. He was fiercely protective of his loved ones. He will be dearly missed.
Adam is preceded in death by his parents Jesus Sanchez and Victoria Sanchez.
He is survived by his ever-loving spouse, Amparo Garza Sanchez, and his 2 daughters, Audra Tijerina (Israel) and Amy Lujan (Robert). Grandsons Demetre Decker (Graesen), Ricky Donavan Hernandez (Milagros), Mason Lujan, Israel Tijerina Jr (Mariel), Mark Tijerina and Stephen Frohnhofer. Granddaughters, Erica Tijerina (Pete), Krystal Tijerina, and Stephany Medina (Eddie), and 11 Great Grandkids. Along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Adam also leaves to cherish his memory his 11 Great Grandkids, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation is set for Thursday December 21, 2023, from 1PM-9Pm with a rosary at 7Pm at Martinez Funeral Home chapel.
Mass will be celebrated at 10AM Friday December 22, 2023, at St Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Frank Chavez officiating.
Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in the Odessa II section with Military honors.
Pallbearers will be Demetre Decker, Graesen Decker, Ricky Donavan Hernandez, Mason Lujan, Israel Tijerina Jr, and Ramon Diaz.
