Adolfo Avalos Najera, 89, of Odessa, TX, passed away at his home surrounded by his beloved family on May 22, 2023.
Adolfo was born in Sanderson, TX to Ricardo Dominguez Najera and Romula Avalos Najera on February 23, 1934. Moving to Alpine TX, in his younger years, Adolfo met the love of his life Petra “Betty” Marquez Najera, and married her on January 3, 1956. Adolfo was a Veteran who joined The United States Army in 1956, serving two years in the “Cold War in Alaska.” He was later “Honorably Discharged” from the Army of the United States on the 31st of December, 1961. After having two daughters in Alpine, TX, Adolfo and Betty moved to Odessa, TX in 1958, later having three more daughters. Adolfo worked thirty years for Sewell Ford and then moved to Bronco Chevrolet where he met an amazing family friend, Tiki Davis. He retired twenty-five years later from Bronco Chevrolet. His favorite pass-time was playing pool, guachas, going fishing with his Son in Laws, watching his favorite teams - the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and The Dallas Mavericks. He also loved watching his western movies like Gun Smoke, while telling people “You Festis!!”
Adolfo was preceded in death by his beloved wife Petra “Betty” Najera, Daughters, Belinda” Bell” Rodriguez and Bertha “Bertie” Lopez. Son In Law, Hector Ybarra. His Parents, Ricardo and Romula Najera. Brothers, Jessie Najera (Licha+), Eliseo Najera (Mariellena+), John Najera and many more beloved family members.
Adolfo is survived by his daughters, Nelda Ybarra (Hector +), Velma Vazquez, husband Artemio, Sandra Najera and Son in Laws, Raul Rodriguez and Margarito Lopez Jr. His Brother Raul Najera (Olga+) and Sister Maria Fernandez (Manuel +). Adolfo has seventeen Grandchildren, thirty-five Great Grand Children and two Great-Great Grandchildren. Five Generations. Many Nieces, Nephews and God Children.
Pallbearers will be: Artie Rodriguez, Noah Rodriguez, Adrian Lopez, Anthony Lopez, Joe Ray Gonzales, Aaron Vazquez, Joel Vazquez and Julian Guerra.
