Alejandra Carrillo Sotelo 64, of Odessa, TX went to be with our Lord on December 13, 2020. She was born in La Esmeralda, Ojinaga Chihuahua, MX on April 24, 1956 to the late Juan and Herminia Venegas. She was preceded in death by her husband Mauro Sotelo, Sisters Dionicia Venegas Carrillo and Inés Venegas Urias, Brothers Antonio and Roberto Venegas Carrillo.
Alejandra (Everyone would call her Alé) was loving and very dedicated to the Lord and her church. Her heart of gold was always to care for others in need. She gave graciously without expecting nothing in return. She participated and donated to multiple children and ministry charities. She led a good example for us. There was never a job too large or too small that she would not tackle. She was always a loving and caring person, she taught us to put all our worries and troubles to God and everything will be okay. Mom was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. We will miss her every day.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, sister, friend and the list goes on. Her kids and grandkids meant the world to her. She always looked forward to Friday afternoons. We had those reserved specifically for her. We would all meet at her house to chit-chat, eat dinner and/or have coffee. Fridays were our favorites so we could vent and catch up about our weekly daily activities. She leaves us with many great memories and laughters.
John 14:1-4 says “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
II Timothy 4:6-8 says “6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
Those left to cherish her love and memory is her sister Lucina Venegas Porras, her Daughters Sonia and husband Felipe Rios, Elsa and husband Javier Madrid, Sandra and husband Gerardo Orona, Veronica and husband Eric Lujan, Son Mauro Jr. Sotelo and wife Christina.
