Alfredo C. Alvarado (Lelo) age 80 entered the gates of Heaven on September 4,2022.
Alfredo was born on 2/25/1942 in Cañada Ancha Ojinaga Chihuahua,México to Paz & Dolores Alvarado. Alfredo worked for Jones Brothers Dirt & Paving for 15 year before branching out and starting his own company, Alvarado Sand & Gravel which he ran happily till the very end. Alfredo was a very hard working man who passed his same work ethic on to all of his children. He taught them all from a young age to work hard, never give up and above all, he always reminded them of life’s greatest virtue “ Patience”. We will always remember Alfredo as being just that, the most patient man we ever had the privilege of knowing. Not only was Alfredo patient, but he was a true friend to everyone, although seemingly quiet he loved to visit, loved to listen and always had a smile & a hug to give. Aside from the work ethic Alfredo instilled in his children he also passed on two other lessons to his entire family.
One, Always look your best! It was rare the occasion you would catch him, without his nicely starched clothing and perfectly slicked hair.
Two, Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Alfredo loved starting every single day, rain or shine at one of his favorite spots either Gerardo’s or Lucy’s Cafe.
Alfredo is preceded in death by his parents & great grandson Izaiah Alvarado.
He is survived by his siblings, who he always looked after! Sister Alicia Rodriguez, Brother Pilar Alvarado, Sister Guadalupe Alvarado, Brother Angel Alvarado,Brother Ruben Alvarado all of Odessa, Texas. Sister Janet Alvarado of Granada, Colorado, Sister Alma Alvarado of Frisco, Colorado & Brother Micheal Bersosa of Johnson City, Kansas.
Alfredo is also survived by his children. Dolores Alvarado, Blanca and husband Bobby Hummel, Alfredo Alvarado Jr. and wife Pam, Aaron Alvarado and wife Jennifer Rocio Alvarado, Eduardo Alvarado all of Odessa, Texas.
As well as 20 grandchildren & 34 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
We will forever cherish the lessons, memories and times shared with our father, grandfather & friend and although we were not ready to say goodbye we take solace in knowing he lived a great life! He worked hard, especially enjoying his later years and as it was perfectly put “He lived a great life and had many accomplishments, Except winning the big lotto jackpot, because yes if you knew him you knew he loved his scratch tickets and slot machines!
“Hasta luego Dad/grandpa no sé preocupe de aquí no la llevaremos con calma….. “
