Allene Taylor

Allene Carter Taylor passed away peacefully on May 1, 2017 with her loving children at her side.

Visitation will be held 10am to 9pm with a Wake at 7pm on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel.

Celebration of Life will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Donald A. Flinn officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in Rosehill Garden. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.

Allene was born May 19, 1935 in Marlin, Texas to the late Fred and Lula Mae (Horton) Carter. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1956.
Allene married James Taylor January 17, 1955 and moved to Odessa that same year. She began her career in banking at First State Bank for 17 years, as a Customer Service Representative; ECISD as a Teacher's Aide, Sales Associate for Dillard's Patient Overseer for A.D. Adams, at the time of her death Allene was working as a Bus Monitor for ECISD.
Allene attended Odessa College in 1968-1970 were she took some business courses. Her career achievements include, Classes sponsored by the American Institute of Banking, Negotiable Instrument Law in Banking, Seminar conducted by Bank Cross, Selling Techniques, Career Planning and Time Management. Allene was a faithful member of the Faith Baptist Church. She loved to sing and play the piano for the Lord. She was a talented seamstress.

Allene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Taylor; brothers - Fred Carter; Alvin Carter; sisters - Ora Lene Bess, Mary Ethel Nelson, Blanche Nedd.

She leaves a legacy of love, peace and contentment which will be cherishes by her children - James Earl (Jackie) Taylor, Bobby Joe Taylor (Sharon), Kenneth Ray Taylor (Renee), and Melinda Jane Batie (Larry); 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Richard, Earl Heyword, Rayford; 6 sisters - Doris, Lucille, Shirley, Rosie, Carolyn, Sandra and a host of relatives and close friends.
