Andrea Aguirre

Andrea Ponce Aguirre, 88, of Odessa, went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in Odessa.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Martinez Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Balla, officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in the Peaceful Gardens section.

Andrea was born in El Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico to Manuel Ponce and Candelaria Renteria on December 1, 1928. She married Samuel Aguirre on May 2, 1945 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. Andrea loved and enjoyed cooking for all her loved ones. Her greatest passion was gardening and she loved animals.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Samuel Aguirre; daughters Josefina Carrasco and Celia Aguirre, and her 6 siblings.

Andrea is survived by her children Edelmira Aguirre, Samuel Aguirre, Emna Muniz, Octavio Aguirre, Silvya Cano, Yolanda Saenz, Lucina Aguirre, Martha Aguirre, Rigoberto Aguirre, Omar Aguirre, and Javier Aguirre; one brother and two sisters; 46 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great grandchildren, son in-laws, and daughter in-laws.
