Angelica Sauceda Cervantes, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, gained her wings peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 9, 2025, at the age of 70. She was born in Taft, Texas on February 23, 1955. She spent her life devoted to her family, always offering kindness, warmth, love, and adorable sense of humor to those around her.
Angelica was a loving and dedicated mother to her three daughters, Priscilla Cervantes (Brian Conklin), Josie Mata, and Anita Cervantes (Jaime Sandoval), who will forever cherish her memory. She was also a proud and doting grandmother to her “Mis Corazones” (grandsons)-Luis Alfredo Cervantes Mata (Kyra), and Sergio Xavier Cervantes Mata, who brought her immense joy. One of her greatest pleasures in life was listening to her grandsons sing to her, their voices filling her heart with love and happiness. She, too, had a love for singing and often filled her home with music, sharing her beautiful voice with those she loved.
Angelica found joy in bringing her family together with delicious homemade meals prepared with love. Whether it was a special holiday feast or a simple family dinner, her kitchen was always a place of warmth, laughter, and togetherness.
She also had a passion for crocheting, creating beautiful handmade pieces that will serve as lasting reminders of her love and creativity. Her gentle spirit and caring heart touched many, and her presence will be deeply missed. She had a deep appreciation for nature and could often be found shopping for plants. She loved taking mini trips cherishing the moments and making memories spent exploring new places and life’s little adventures.
Angelica was preceded in death by her father-Maclovio Sauceda, her husband-Luz Guerrero Cervantes; her brothers-Armando Sauceda, Adan Sauceda, and Abelardo Sauceda, her sister-Adelita Robles, and her son-in-law, Luis Garcia Mata.
She is survived by her mother-Cayetana Sauceda, three siblings, Alonzo Sauceda, Adriana Mendoza (Arturo), and Audon Sauceda (Kristi), as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored her and will always remember her warmth and generosity.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that her love, music, and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love, laughter, and cherished memories she created.
Pallbearers will be: Luis Alfredo Cervantes Mata, Sergio Xavier Cervantes Mata, Armando Sauceda Jr., Manuel Alvarado, Daniel Mendoza, and Raul Cervantes.
