Anita Aguilar Olivas

May 9, 1937 — March 13, 2024

Anita Aguilar Olivas was born on May 9, 1937 in Tres Casas, Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico to Librado Aguilar and Maria Navarrete. She married Severo Olivas in Marfa, Texas in 1964. They lived many years in Pecos, Texas, in Oxnard, California, and most recently in Odessa, Texas. She was a dedicated loving wife and alongside him lovingly raised a large extensive family. Anita is survived by numerous daughters, sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a large loving and united family. She was a deeply religious woman, loved all people she encountered throughout her life, and absolutely loved being surrounded by friends, family, and music always uplifted her! She would say she was connected to famous Aguilar singers. She always kept a clean and organized home, loved to cook and loved to share her cooking, like biscochos, tamales and empanadas! Those she touched and came to know her were drawn to her caring, attentive ways. Whether they were related or not, she easily became that person’s: “Mi Tia, Mi Abuelita, Mi Wela, Mi Comadre, Mi Nina, or Mi Prima”.

The lord called her to his heavenly home on March 13, 2024 at the age of 86 to be with all her loved ones that preceded her in death. She will be missed by all but know she is in God’s Glory.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Librado and Maria Aguilar, her siblings, Ricardo, Victorio, Etanislado, Juan, Jose, Manuel, Santiago, Lilia, Maria Librada, Elisa, her husband, Severo, their sons, Jose, Efren, and daughter, Gregoria.

She is survived by her beloved family: her daughters, Anna Maria, Francisca, Yolanda, Pilar, Adela, Manuela, her sons, Jesus Olivas, David Olivas, Reynaldo Olivas, her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Many thanks to the Pallbearers: Ruben Montoya, Raul Montoya, Ibrahim Gallegos, Juan Cordova, Andy Prieto, and Roberto Olivas.

The immediate family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all those that touched mom’s life and for all your thoughts and prayers.
