Antony (Anthony) Machuca Prieto, also known as Tony or Prito to his friends, 58, of Odessa, TX, surrounded by his family, went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2021.

Antony was born in Pecos, TX to Adelaida Machuca on November 29, 1962. He graduated from Ector High School in 1981. He was very active in ROTC. Antony was part of the IATSE, International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. There he served as President of  Local 865. He managed to set the stage and lights for many concerts, beginning in the 80’s, here in West Texas and the surrounding areas, including the Ector County Coliseum, Rock the Desert, and Wagner Noel.

He was a very talented Christian man beginning remodeling with JR’s Remodeling and then becoming self-employed at “YOUR” Remodeling and Repairs. He remodeled many homes here in Odessa and also for Clayton Mobile Homes. He was a perfectionist and took pride in his work.

He is preceded in death by his mom, Adelaida Machuca; uncles, Valente C. Machuca Jr,  Joe Soto, Jose Alberto Machuca, and grandparents, Balente P. Machuca and Maria C. Machuca.

Antony is survived by his daughters: Annette P. Martinez and Adreann N. Prieto (Jaqua Ross), son: Anthony Prieto Jr. (Cassandra Prieto)  all of Odessa, TX; sisters Jeannette Pearce (Doug Pearce), Caroline Chavez, and Mina Machuca all of Odessa; brother Richard Machuca (Julie Machuca) of McKinney, TX; grandchildren Jordan Franco, Jaedyn Prieto, Adelisa Martinez, Jristen Prieto, Abigail Martinez, and Journey Prieto; aunts, Celia Soto, Cecilia Mendez, Senaida Lopez, all of Odessa and uncle Adan Machuca(Cruz Machuca) of Pecos, TX; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursdays, October 21, 2021 from 1-9 pm with a rosary being recited  at 7:00 pm at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 22, 2021 at 10:00am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Fr. Fernando Bonilla officiating. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery the Odessa II Section.

The family request in honor of all the concerts our dad worked, please wear your favorite concert t-shirt or Fedoras (capitas) to the rosary. The day of service, if possible, please wear burgundy, fedora, and/or a concert t-shirt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Flores, Jordan Franco, Raymond Lopez,  Reynaldo (Nunie) Lopez, Balente Mendez Jr., Donavan Pando, Nathan Pando, and Jaqua Ross.

The Prieto family would like to thank the nurses at MCH ICU, Home Hospice, and Martinez Funeral Home for the love and support they have given the family. Thank you to all the family and friends who have reached out. We are truly blessed.
