Artie Pearl Hendrix

November 11, 1946 — February 28, 2025

Artie Pearl Hendrix was born November 11, 1946 in Odessa, Texas to the late Robert and Clarice Hendrix. She transitioned to heaven on Friday, February 28, 2025 leaving behind a legacy that touched the lives of many individuals. She was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

Artie attended school in Little Rock, Arkansas and later moved back to Odessa and graduated from Blackshear High School in 1965. While attending Blackshear, she played in the band. She later attended Junior College. She moved to Denver, Colorado and started a career with the Workforce. After several years, she moved back to Odessa and began working in the Billing and Collection Department for the City of Odessa. She later worked at Walmart until she retired. She always had compassion for the elderly. She obtained her CNA Licenses and began caring for her dad, mom, and brother. She took pride in caring for her younger siblings. She cared for her brother Jerry until she became ill.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Clarice Hendrix, brother Richard Hendrix, and sisters Carolyn V. Hendrix and Margaret A. Harris, her son Rodney D. Hendrix.

She is survived by two brothers, Robert Hendrix Jr. and Jerry D. Hendrix of Odessa, Texas, and two sisters Debra (Dwight) Randolph and Dianne Hendrix both of Arlington, Texas and two daughters, Rosalind D. Daniels of Grand Prairie, Texas and Cynthia H. Willis (Pastor Darren Willis) of Odessa, Texas.

She has eight grandchildren, Larodrick Daniels, Calvin Daniels Jr., Damone Daniels, KThono Smith, Darren D. Willis, Darrell R. Willis, Breana Pickens and Cyntia (Tia) D. Willis, seventeen great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, and cousins. She had two special friends Juanita Roe of Houston, Texas and Ruthie Hutchins of Odessa, Texas.

Visitation will be held Thursday March 6, 2025 from 1:00PM - 9:00PM at Martinez Funeral Home in the Outside Chapel. 

A Celebration Of Life is set for 2:00PM Friday March 7, 2025 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev./Son In Law Darren Willis officiating. 

Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens ~ Memories Section in Odessa, Texas. 

Active pallbearers are LaRoderick Hendrix Daniels, Darran Willis, Calvin Daniels Jr., Darrell Willis, Demone Daniels, and KThono Smith.  

Honorary pallbearers are Robert Hendrix Jr. and Jerry D. Hendrix.
