Billy Ray Ennis 58 of Odessa, Texas passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at his residence.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 19th from 9:00am to 9:00 pm with a family presence from 6 - 8:00pm. at Martinez Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 20th at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 2212 East 11th Street, Odessa, Texas with Pastor Samuel L. Buhl Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery the Odessa II Section, Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home and Crematory, 1040 S Dixie Blvd. Odessa, Texas 79761
Billy Ray was born in Stamford, Texas to Otis and Mary Lee Ennis on November 30, 1958. He attended school in Midland, Texas. He married Mary Jenkins on June 29, 1979 in Odessa, Texas. He graduated from Midland Lee High School in June 1977 furthering his education at Odessa College and then on to Howard Payne University. He was employed by the City of Odessa as a police officer, later he managed the Woodson Boys and Girls Club and he was also employed by All Aboard Bus Lines. He was the Maintenance Administrator for St. James Missionary Baptist Church for 25 years until his health started to decline.
Billy Ray is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 6 sisters. He is survived by his wife Mary Ennis, his children: Travece Lanae Ennis and Timothy Lamar Jenkins; Mother, Mary Lee Ennis; grandchildren: Kaleena Khieu-Jenkins and Jeremy Johnson; great grandson: Yul Gibbs Jr. and a host of relatives, family and friends.
