Billy Gene Veal

Rev. Billy Gene Veal, age 83 passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024 at Odessa Medical Center Hospital he was born on September 25, 1940. Both of his parents; Leslie and David Veal proceeded him in death along with one daughter: Charlene Jewell Bracy and one grandson: Cedrick Thomas. Billy Veal was a beloved and dedicated Husband, Grandfather and Great grandfather to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

He was known for his love of the Lord and was minister Mount Zion Baptist Church in the city of Pecos, Texas before his illness retired him. He attended Prairie View A&M University in his youth. Billy worked as an Insurance Agent for many years for Reliable Life Insurance. His commitment and passion inspired those around him.

Billy Gene Veal is survived by his Spouse Ruby Jewel Veal who he married in 1985.; 4 sons: Billy Veal Jr. of San Antonio, Tx., Marcus Bracy and Henry (Juanita) Johnson of Odessa, Tx., Roger (Elise) Bracy of Dallas, Tx.; 5 Daughters: Jacquelyn Veal, Georgia and Betty Veal of San Antonio, Tx., Thelma Smith of Dallas Tx., Salena (Fred) Thomas of Odessa, Tx., Carolyn (Martin) Kizito of Houston, Tx. He has 21 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Granddaughter.

As we bid farewell to Billy Gene Veal, let us remember and honor the impact he had on our lives. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may the memories we shared bring comfort during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held Thursday July 11, 2024 from 1PM - 9PM at Martinez Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held 11AM Friday July 12, 2024 at Martinez Funeral Home. Cremation will be held at a later date.
