Brenda Hawkins age 62 Passed away on September 7, 2024 Midland Texas

Brenda Kaye Hawkins was born in Tyler Texas to James Roy Hawkins and Gladys Hawkins-Williams. On born on July 21 1962.

She married Johnny Murphy in 1989 in Odessa Texas and had Johnita Marie Murphy who passed away on August 22 1989.

Brenda is survived by Marquisha Shajuana Denise Cork and Marlaysiah Jaamayah Imani Steele

Brenda Kaye Hawkins started working at sears and moved on to the ECISD school system until she got very ill. Brenda served in many capacities at Mt. Olive Baptist Church: she sang alto in the sanctuary choir and was also the secretary, secretary of women’s mission, clerk for the sick committee, youth sponsor, and she made frequent phone calls to the sick and made home visits to see the sick and shut-in, then giving her report to the sick committee.

Brenda was a great support of the youth and assisted in transporting them to school events. Brenda loved the Lord and His people. Her service and worship had no bounds. 

Visitation will be held Thursday September 26, 2024 from 1:00PM – 9:00PM at Martinez Funeral Home. Celebration Of Life will be held at 1:00PM Friday September 27, 2024 at Martinez Funeral Home. Burial will follow at American Heritage Cemetery in Midland, Texas.
