Charles was born in Odessa, Texas to Frances Miles on October 27th 1953. He attended Odessa High School. He married Karen Ramsey on November 10th 1972. He worked as a machinist for 27 years.

He enjoyed the great outdoors and loved camping and fishing. He enjoyed hunting, had a green thumb and was always outside watering his lawn or gardening. Charles liked tinkering in his shed woodworking and reloading his own bullets while listening to his massive collection of music on his vinyl records. His prized possession was his Honda motorcycle even though dreams of owning a Harley danced in his head. After church he would visit the store where he could buy an R.C. Cola, a snickers bar, a local newspaper and head home to watch his favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys. He raised rabbits, chickens, horses and the occasional duck or baby possum that the family drug home as a pet.

Charles had a wonderful sense of humor and was a bit of a prankster. July 4th was his favorite holiday and was always known to keep a box of firecrackers tucked away throughout the entire year. The contents of his toolbox was plentiful but he would always say he could fix anything with a roll of duct tape and a can of WD-40. He had multiple phrases but his favorite was always "I've got to see a man about a dog". He joked his son was never in trouble but blamed his grey hair on his oldest daughter and white hair on his youngest daughter.
Charles always had sweets and small gifts for the grandkids tucked away and they never left his house empty handed. The last years of his life he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Charles is preceded in death by Jack Miles and Christian Dameron.
