Darrest Edell McCalister, 33, of Odessa, passed away on June 2nd, 2018 in San Antonio, TX.

Visitation will be 12pm to 9pm Friday June 8th at Martinez Funeral Home

Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday, June 9th, 2018 at Texas & Clements Church of Christ with Brother Devon Deshields officiating.
Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.

Darrest was born in Odessa, TX to Samuel and Virginia McCalister on August 30th, 1984. He went Permian High School. He graduated from
the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration. He worked as a social worker for Child Protective Services of Texas.
He served in the United States Navy as an optometry technician and an emergency medical technician.

Darrest is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edell and Elnora McCalister and his maternal grandfather, Relford Smith.

Darrest is survived by his daughters, Angelica, Ally, and Kennedy. His brothers, Kenny and Isaiah and his sisters, Chelsey and Chasity.
His parents Samuel and Virginia McCalister. And his maternal grandmother, Eula Smith.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Perkins Jr., Mitchell Barron, Ernest Bacon, Duane Clark, Marlowe Porterfield, and Dominique Petty.
Honorary pallbearers are Terrell Boysaw, Jovanni Cleaver, and Jacobi Cleaver.
