David Barrientes

David Barrientes Sr., 76, of Odessa, passed away on Sunday May 8, 2016 in Odessa, TX.
Rosary will be recited Thursday May 12, 7pm at Martinez Funeral Home
Mass will be celebrated at 2pm, Friday May 13, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Fr. Isidore officiating.
Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
under the direction of Funeral Director Nancy Olvera.
David was born in Brownsville to Saturnino and Marcella Barrientes on July 31, 1939.
He married Beatrice Cervantes on January 4th, 1959 in Lamesa, Texas. He was a Forklift Driver for
Dynagen Inc. for over 35 years. He was a Die-Hard Dallas Cowboys fan and he loved having
his family over on Sundays to watch the games. He also enjoyed having all of his grandkids and
great-grandchildren over and spoiling them with treats.
David is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beatrice Barrientes, brothers
Gilberto Barrientes Sr., and Estevan Barrientes, daughter Elda Marruffo, and granddaughter Victoria Barrientes.
David is survived by Daughter Rita Barrientes; Sons, Victor Barrientes, Daniel Barrientes,
and David Barrientes Jr. all of Odessa; Brothers Edward Rosas and wife, Cecilia, of Ft. Worth,
Tony Barrientes and wife, Ofelia, of Odessa, Troy Barrientes and wife, Bertha, of
San Antonio,; Sister Virginia Longoria and husband, Otimio, of
Odessa and Marcella Aguirre and husband, Adolpho, of Lamesa.;
10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Ramon Levario, Victor Joe Barrientes, Davic Barrientes,
Nathaniel Velasco, Oscar Cedillo, Mitchell Thornton, Ramon Levario Jr., and Xavier Tavarez.

The family would like thank Dr. Sepulveda, the staff at Odessa Physical Therapy, and the staff at
Medical Center Hospital for all of their assistance and care for our father.
