Delfina Gomez

Delfina H. Gomez, 98, of Balmorhea, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Odessa, Texas.

Visitations will be held today, Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, May 8, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Martinez Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea, Texas.

Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial will follow at Balmorhea County Cemetery in Balmorhea, Texas.

Delfina H. Gomez was born in Saragosa, Texas to Miguel and Angelita Hernandez on December 14, 1918. She married Juan Gomez in 1936 in Balmorhea, Texas. She was a homemaker. She dedicated her entire life to her children and family.

Delfina H. Gomez is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Christina Gomez, and eldest son Ramon Gomez.

Delfina H. Gomez is survived by her daughters Gloria and husband Tino Lara, Bertha Garcia, Amada Martinez, Lydia and husband Tommy Trammell; sons George and wife Maggie Gomez, Robert and wife Mary Lou Gomez, Ruben and wife Vicky Gomez, Johnny and wife Carmela Gomez and two sisters Genveva Gomez and Chavela Arenivas. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great grandchildren.

The family of Delfina H. Gomez wish to extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to the 5th floor of MCH, Home Hospice, her doctor since 1987 Dr. O'Hearn, Dr. Garza and supporting staff. Thank you to our family and friends for all your love and support. Our Queen is home with the Lord. GOD BLESS!
