Derrick Demonta Richardson, 37, of Odessa, passed away on November 29, 2013 in Odessa, TX.
Wake will be from 7:00pm 9:00pm on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Martinez Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church with Pastor Darren Willis of Pampa, officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens section of the Ector County Cemetery on Dixie. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.

Derrick Demonta Richardson was born in Odessa, TX to James Williams Jr and Mary Richardson on November 07, 1976. He graduated from Moody High school. He worked as a coach and mentor at the Odessa YMCA for 2 years. He also served in the Navy. He was involved with the local Boys and Girls Club, YMCA football and basketball programs for kids, and refereed for numerous schools and organizations.

Derrick Richardson is preceded in death by father, James Williams Jr, grandparents, Allue Richardson, Leo Richardson, James Williams Sr., and Jetti B. Williams, sister, Roshunda Asher, and niece Jaliyah Richardson.

Derrick Richardson is survived by children, Alyssa Reyna, Kanazeya Williams, Kamuaury Williams, and Yariah Hart: sisters and brothers, Rochell Richardson, Florence McBridePride, Damon Bars, Shira Williams, Kemberly Williams, Sheen Bars, Shanae Bars, Erica Evans, Deann Evans, Avrial Evans, Shanay Evans, and James Williams III: parent, Mary Richardson Blaylock.

Pallbearers will be Sheldon Bass, Willie Ellis, Roy lee Bars, Quenton Hunter, Randy Smith, and Carlos Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Hill Jr., Jerry Williams, Jojo Byrd, Jimmy Bridges, Lincoln Pruitt, and Bobby Thomas.

The family of Richardson, Bars, and Williams wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all family and friends, Odessa YMCA and staff, Medical Center Hospital and staff, and Dr. Abijay, Dr. Gandra, Dr. Azarov, and Dr. Oud.
