Dessie Davis

Dessie Irene Davis, 76, of Mumford, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2023, in Midland , Texas.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Rosehill Cemetery with Pastor Darrell Sutton, of the Mount Zion Baptist Church, officiating.

Dessie Irene (Jean) was born in Mumford, Texas (Robertson County) to Walter and Doris Davis. She spent most of her childhood years in Mumford where she and her brother Jerry Davis, grew up on a her father’s farm. She would eventually move to Odessa, Texas, with her mother, Doris, and her stepfather, Gussie Wiley.  She attended school for a short time at Blackshear Junior High.  She had a strong belief in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and she was a long time member of St. James Baptist Church in Odessa, Texas.  Her favorite bible verse was the 23rd chapter of the book of Psalm.

Dessie Irene (Jean) was proceeded in death by her mother, Doris Wiley, Gussie Wiley (father), and Frank Davis (husband).

Dessie Irene (Jean) is survived by her son, Tommy Joe Davis (Larissa), brother, Jerry Davis (Sondra), five grandchildren, April Huber (Jayson), Jeremy Davis (Sammie), Tavia Jo Davis,  John-Michael Davis (Mackenzie), Brianna Nicole Lozano (Javi).  Thirteen great grand children, Hannah Huber, Halle Huber, Amaya Sutton, Jazaliah Davis, Blesso Davis, Nori Tess Davis, Madilyn Davis, Milo Davis, Remington Davis, Reign Davis, Addison Lozano, Adriel Joe Lozano, and Anthony Michael Lozano, and fur baby, Ashley! She is also survived by a large number of cousins and other distant relatives.
