Edward Mata

Edward Garcia Mata, 84 of Odessa, passed away on March 20, 2017 in Odessa, Texas.

Visitation will be held 12pm - 9pm Thursday, March 23, 2017 with a Rosary at 7pm at Martinez Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10am Friday, March 24, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Chavez officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.

Edward was born on November 12, 1935 in Marfa, Texas to Cipriano Mata and Adelina Garcia Mata. He married Celia Morales in Odessa, Texas. Edward was a self-taught and recognized Architect in home building.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son Raul Mata.

Edward is survived by his wife Celia Morales Mata, his children Oscar (Grace) Mata, Nelda Mata, Janet Sanchez, Sammy Mata, Gloria Gonzales and Mary Lou Marichalar, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
