Elisa Velasquez

Elisa P. Velasquez, 90, of Odessa, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 in Odessa.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at Martinez Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at Martinez Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Frank Chavez officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery.

Elisa was born in Ruidosa, Texas to Paulino Porras and Natividad Sanchez on January 14, 1927. She married Ramon S. Velasquez on November 5, 1946 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was a housewife.

Elisa is preceded in death by her husband Ramon Velasquez Sr.; her sons Paz Velasquez, Ramon Velasquez Jr., and her three sisters and seven brothers.

Left to cherish her memory include Eva and Teodoro Escontrias, Maria Jesus Garcia, Leonor and Gilberto Venegas, Julia Berzosa, Pedro and Monserrat Velasquez, Manuel and Socorro Velasquez, Oscar and Delia Velasquez, Rosa and Roberto Sr. Rodriguez and Isabel Velasquez. She is also survived by 36 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be: Obed Escontrias, Roberto Rodriguez, Eric Velasquez, Cesar Venegas, Paz Velasquez Jr., Manuel Velasquez Jr., Roberto Tarango, Esvan Velasquez, and Armando Carillo.
