Elva Orona Sanchez

On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, Elva Orona Sanchez, loving mother of two children, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren passed away at age 74.

Elva was born on November 7, 1949, in Pecos, Texas to Benito and Elodia Orona. A lifelong resident of Odessa, Texas. She received her Master of Health Administration degree from the University Phoenix in 2014.  Elva had a passion for bible theology. She loved her bible and Jesus, and she combined her two favorite things earning her World Bible School degree in 2006.

Elva was a servant and long-life caregiver to many. She captured the hearts of all who met her.

I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. John 12:46 

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalms 34:18

Elva was preceded in death by her father, Benito M. Orona and her mother, Elodia J. Orona of Pecos, Texas.

She is survived by her two children and their families; daughter Debra Orona Hughes and Husband Bobby, son Joe Anthony Sanchez as well as 4 grandchildren (Katrina, Stanley Jr. , Alex and Jayla), three great grandsons (Christopher, Beckham, and Eden) two great granddaughters (Logan and Max Penelope). Brothers Manuel J. Orona and Benito J. Orona Jr. and sisters Lily Villanueva and Irma Rodriguez and many nieces and nephews.
