Emma Dennis Moorer

Emma Gibbs Moorer a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully Wednesday April 9th, 2025. She was 81. She was born August 3rd,1943 in Brenham, Texas, to Dennis Ray and Ira Lee Flowers. Emma attended school in Brenham, TX and college in El Paso TX. Emma worked for Nurses Unlimited for over 19 years. After retiring she enjoyed traveling with her family, family functions and attending church at Mt Zion Baptist Church, where she was a member. She loved her church family. Emma had a special love for putting puzzles together 1,000 and 2,000 pieces. She was always there for her family offering an abundance of love and support.

Emma is preceded in death by her parents Dennis Ray, Ira Lee Flowers, husband Joe Willie Moorer, brothers Rufus Ray and Floyd Penny, Nephew Kenneth Ray and Niece Lisa Penny.

Emma leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Carolyn Black(Sam), son Darrell Gibbs(Fawn), grandchildren Samuel Black(Ashley), Tiffany Gibbs, of Odessa, TX, Darrell Gibbs Jr(Justine) and Erica Lewis of Forney, TX, Rashaun Black of Atlanta, GA, Mia Black of Dallas, TX niece Regina Ray of Ft. Worth, TX nephew Lee Ray(Cheryl) of Aledo, TX, great-nieces and nephews, Taneisha Green(Dana), Pam Bumpers(Mark), Ayasha Ray, Ashlee Ray, Zaniah Ray, Aurelia Lewis, Nik Lewis, Colby Ray, AJ Ray, Kelby Ray and Jacolby Ray, cousin Kathy Hubert, Mark Flowers, Lila Flowers as well a host of cousins and friends.

Chapel Service is set for 10am Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Martinez Funeral Home.
