Obituary: Eugene Wilburn ‘Dutch' Keesee

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Eugene Wilburn "Dutch' Keesee, who passed away on June 28th, 2016 in Medical Center Hospital.

Dutch was born in Abilene, Texas on August 28, 1926, the only child to Wilburn and Lizzie Sedberry Keesee of Abilene, Texas.
He graduated from Abilene High School. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Navy for 9 years.
He married Nancy Williams in Abilene in 1955, moving the family to Odessa in 1966. He spent most all of his 89 years in Texas.
His career was spent in oil field sales where he made many life-long friends. Dutch was an avid outdoorsman and spent the majority
of his free time plotting a way to escape to his favorite pastimes, fishing and hunting with his children and friends.
He also loved sports, especially golfing with his family and golfing pals. He had a great sense of humor and he loved his family deeply.
His family loved him deeply and is comforted by their many wonderful memories.
He is survived by his children, daughter, Kay Keesee Stewart of Denton, Texas, son, Kelly Keesee of Odessa, Texas, grandson, Kristopher Keesee of Odessa, Texas,
two great grandsons, Klayton and Dillon and longtime dear friend, Elfriede Walters also of Odessa, Texas.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Colleen Smith and all the employees of Seabury Center, St. John's Episcopal Retirement Corp,
of Odessa, Texas. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care over the past year was a heartwarming blessing to the entire family.
A sincere gratitude to Dr. Kendall Wong for his many years of exceptional care.
We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.
A service will be held in the fall at his favorite fishing spot in Rockport, Texas. The family asks that no flowers be sent.
Instead, donations can be made to a favorite charity or one of the local animal shelters in Odessa.
The Martinez Funeral home is caring for the arrangements.
