Gabina Leyva

Gabina (Madrid) Leyva, 89, of Odessa passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 in Odessa, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019 from 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary scheduled for 7:00 PM.  Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 25, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery Odessa II Garden.

Gabina was born in Ojinaga, Chichuahua, Mexico on August 9, 1930 to Zenon Madrid and Geronima Tavarez.

Gabina is preceded in death by her husband, Tomas Leyva and great grandson Art Pantoja Jr.

Gabina is survived by one daughter, Juanita (Calixto) Gomez; six grandchildren, Alma Pantoja (Artemio), Sandra Ruiz (Jose), Patricia Carrasco (Abel), Manuel Gomez, Vilma Wheeler (Joe), Norma Huerta (Edgar); eighteen great grandchildren, Kassandra Pantoja, Abby Pantoja, Aaron Ruiz, Miranda Ruiz, Edgar Carrasco, Deyanira Carrasco, Kendra Carrasco, Manuel C. Gomez Jr., Kaylee Gomez, Carlos Manuel Gomez, Monique Gomez, Braylon Wheeler, Dante Wheeler, Cynthia Gomez, Isaac Huerta, Vianney Huerta, Destiny Huerta; five great great grandchildren, Alexis Carrasco, Edgar Carrasco Jr., Chloe Gomez, Isabella Gomez, and Allison Gomez.

Pallbearers will be Edgar Carrasco, Aaron Ruiz, Artemio Pantoja, Abel Carrasco, Jose Ruiz, Edgar Huerta, Joseph Wheeler, Calixto Gomez, and Isaac Huerta.
