Genaro Leon 'Naro' Chavez

Genaro “Naro” Chavez, 91 of Presidio Texas passed away on August 12, 2024 in Odessa, Texas.

Naro was born to Gabriel Chavez and Manuela Leon on September 19, 1932 in Manuel Benavides Chihuahua Mexico. He went to school at Manuel Benavides. He married Gloria Irene Hernandez on January 15, 1960 in Boquilla De San Isidro Church in Chihuahua Mexico. He worked agriculture and construction. He was involved in the Catholic Church.

Naro is preceded in death by wife, Gloria, Irene, Hernandez, brothers, Carlos Chavez, Jose, Carmen Chavez, Andres Chavez, and Alejandro Chavez.

Naro is survived by Leticia Chavez, Flavio Chavez and wife Anna Chavez, Ernesto Chavez and wife Ivone Chavez, Gabriel Chavez and wife Bahola Chavez, Cesar Chavez, and wife Patricia Chavez, Javier Chavez, Zulma Chavez, 22 Grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held 9AM - 9PM Wednesday August 14, 2024 at Iglesia Fuente De Vida located at 601 S. Clifford St. in Odessa Texas.

 Funeral service will also be held at Iglesia Fuente De Vida at 1PM Thursday, August 15, 2024 with Son / Minister Cesar Chavez officiating.

 Burial will be held at a later date in Presidio Texas Cemetery..
