George Juarez Gonzales, a longtime resident of Barstow, TX,
passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016, in Midland Memorial Hospital. He was 62.
George was born in Yuma, AZ, to parents Nicolas and Josefa Gonzales and was one of ten children.
George learned his strong work ethic early in life, helping out on the family farm harvesting produce
and picking cotton. He was a jack-of-all-trades and kept many toolboxes to prove it. His trucking career
took him across the United States. George's many abilities were later put to use in service to the
City of Barstow before an injury forced him to retire.
His parents Nicolas and Josefa Gonzales, and brothers Nicolas Gonzales, Jr., and Martin Gonzales preceded George in death.
George is survived by his brother Michael Gonzales, sisters Maria Lopez, Jesusita Dominguez, Yolanda Ojeda, Olga Fuentes, Susana Spence, and Gloria Camacho, his children George Brian Gonzales, Melinda Gonzales, Nathaniel Hosea Gonzales, Abram Josiah Gonzales, and grandchildren Zachary, Andrew, Ryan, Gia, Trinity, and Serenity.
Viewing and memorial services for George will be held at the Pecos Funeral Home. Viewing times will be from 1pm to 8pm on Thursday, November 3, 2016. George's son Nathaniel will be officiating his memorial service Friday, November 4, 2016, at 10am. The procession and burial will follow the memorial service and take place at the Barstow Cemetery.
