Gilbert Navarette Jr.

Gilbert Navarette Jr., of Odessa, passed away on March 3, 2023, in Odessa, Texas.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel.

Gilbert was born in Mountainair, Torrance Co., New Mexico to Gilberto Navarette and Librada Alvarado on February 24th, 1961. He attended and graduated from Ector High School in Odessa. His love for hot rods and low-riders transformed into his career as a mechanic the entirety of his adult life, and for the last number of years he worked for Myers Service Company as a Service Shop Manager.

His later found appreciation for Harley Davidson motorcycles created a memorable bonding experience for him and his brothers, traveling the scenic roads of the United States to attend the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally held in Sturgis, South Dakota; memories of an often-relished story.

Gilbert cherished his family and friends, but most of all treasured his four sons. He was proud of the men they grew up to be and adored them more than anything in this life. He was a strength of mountain as a father.

In life, Gilbert was the most kind-hearted, generous, silly, loving, helpful and joyous soul to all.

He is preceded in death by Gilberto Navarette, Librada Navarette,  and beloved family pet,  Caine.

He is survived by his children: Angel Navarette, Jacob Navarette and his fiancée Joanna, Adrian Navarette, and Julian Navarette; former spouse; Brothers: Leroy and his wife Belinda, Ralph and his wife Yolanda, Jerry, Alonso; Sisters: Debra, Carolina and her husband, Delia and her husband Frank.
