GRACE DAWSON SANDERS

God made a wonderful mother, and He gave that dear mother to us.

Grace Dawson Sanders, 90, passed away at Medical Center Hospital on May 4, 2014. She was born October 31, 1923 in Wortham, Texas, Freestone County to Ples and Kate Perkins Dawson. Grace married Charlie Beil Sanders on March 18, 1946 in Limestone County, Texas.

Grace graduated from F. W. Wheeler High School in Wortham, Texas. She became a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, Odessa, Texas under the leadership of the late Reverend A. H. Goings. She did domestic work for many years until she retired. She loved to play bingo. Grace was a loving, devoted and supporting mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Several months before Grace passed, she met a special lady, Mrs. Dorothy Keener, who became her loving and caring friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Charlie Beil Sanders parents: Ples and Kate Dawson, two brothers: James Dawson and George Dawson, one sister: Doris Launza and one soninlaw: John Lee Prann.

She leaves her legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of her son: Paul Roy Sanders, two daughters: Charlesetta Prann and Patricia Sanders Rogers of Odessa, TX two sistersinlaw: Hazel McWilliams of Fort Worth. TX and Sara Washington of Dallas, TX grandchildren: Melissa Sanders, Regina Cunningham Ray, Jason Prann Nikki, Marteis Rogers Tiana, Michaela RogersWallace Stanley and Jonte Prann McCrea Frenchey 11 great grandchildren, a special cousin Delores Dawson Stevenson, her lifelong friend Fannie Lawrence and many other relatives and friends.


A viewing will be held Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 9 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 9, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, 1615 E. Murphy, Odessa, Texas with Reverend. Ronald Vandyke officiating and Elder Frenchey McCrea Jr. giving the eulogy.

Interment will follow at the Ector County Cemetery, Los Angeles Garden section.
