Guadalupe Talamantez

Guadalupe "Lupe" Talamantez, 93, of Pecos, Texas passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 in Odessa, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at Martinez Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at Martinez Funeral Home.

Funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery.

Lupe was born in Toyah, Texas to Micaela Chavez Garcia on December 12, 1923. She married Luis Talamantez in 1943. She retired from Woolworth and sold Avon for fifty plus years. She was very active in the church, where she taught catechism for more than fifty years.

Lupe is preceded in death by her son Luis Talamantez Jr., her husband, mother, six brothers and two sons-in-law's.

She is survived by her daughters Ida Talamantez, Irma Sosa, Linda Apodaca and son-in-law Pete Apodaca and son Roger G. Talamantez and daughter-in-law Dora Talamantez, all of Odessa. One sister, Francisca Martinez and about 66 grandchildren and numerous great and great, great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Danny Segovia, Joe Louis Sosa, Alonzo Ramirez, Paul Talamantez, Oscar Galindo Jr., Robert Romo Jr., Jacob Ramsey, and Michael Sherman.
