H.C. (Hop) Collins was born September 24, 1935 in Cooledge, Texas to the late Jessie Collins Sr. and Ora Lee Collins.
He attended public school In Cooledge, Texas and in 1950 he moved to Odessa, Texas where he met and married the love of his life Helen Ruth Collins.
He gave his life to Christ at the St. Matthew Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Rufus McClain.
Hop was employed for Meco Oil Company for many years and later he was employed by Ector County School District where he retired after 25 years.
He was a die- heart Dallas Cowboy fan and he believed in them when no one else did.
He is preceded in death by his Wife; Helen Lee Collins, Parents; Jessie Collins Sr. and Ora Lee Collins, Son; Stanley Collins, His two Daughters; Shelia Ann Rand and Martha Ann Collins, Five Brothers; Robert Lee Collins, Leslie Collins, Daniel Collins, Burnes Collins, Four Sisters; Betty Mae, Lovie Lee, Tanny and Jessie Merrell.
Cherishing his memories is his Son; Norris Norman (Ruby), Daughter; Marilyn Miller (Charles), 14 Grandchildren; Torsha Johnson, LaKetta Ellis, I’frica, Sirron, Brandon, Kendell, Myesha Norman, Candy Collins, Bryndon Tennie, Anchestanique Rand, Annissa Arrington, Carl Towns 11, Charles Miller 11, Tanya Shay Miller, 34 Great Grandchildren, 24 Great Great Grandchildren, Three Brothers; Mose Collins, Willie Ray Collins, Jessie Collins Jr, Two Sisters; Idamese Collins and Mae Griffin. Along with several Nieces, Nephews, many cousins and very special friends.
