Henry Curtis Jones

Henry Curtis Jones, 93, of Kermit, Texas, passed away on April 16, 2024 in Odessa.

Henry was born in Bismarck, Arkansas to William Thomas Jones and Leona Belle Garner on July 26, 1930. He was the grandson of William Alexander Jones and Lula Viola Taylor and Jesse Morgan Garner and Mary Adeline Jones. Henry worked as an Operator at El Paso Natural Gas Company where he retired. Henry was a natural born musician as was his dad and siblings.  He grew up playing music with his family in Arkansas.  He could play anything with strings but preferred the fiddle.  He played with everyone he met that could play music throughout his career with El Paso.

Henry is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, siblings Vada Efird (Elwood),"Buster" Jones (Ruthie), Elsie Thacker (Clifton), Hazel Thrash (Robert), Raymond Jones, Wilburn Jones, Charles Jones, 2nd wife Donnie Lucille Owen, sons Johnny Ray Jones and Benny McKee.

Henry is survived by sons Gary Jones of Odessa, Donnie McKee of Wink, Billy McKee of San Angelo; daughters Cathy Jones Collins of Odessa, Marsha Jones Christman (George Tweedale) of Crescent City, Florida, Theresa McKee Reyes (John) of Albuquerque, NM; special niece he considered a sister, Edith Jones of Kermit; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews that loved him dearly; and caretaker Christine Jones.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home of Odessa, Texas.
