Henry Rand Sr

Henry Rand, 80 years of age, was called home on February 6, 2017 in Odessa, TX.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017, beginning at 11:00 am to 9:00 pm at Martinez Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm at 1201 S. Texas Ave. with Devon DeShields of Texas & Clements Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in Los Angeles Garden. Arrangements are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home.
Henry Rand was born in Rosebud, Texas to Riley Rand, Sr. and Easter (Masters) Rand on October 2nd, 1936. He attended Blackshear High School in Odessa, TX. Henry met and married the love of his life, Juritha Jean Moten, on July 14, 1957 in Chilton, TX. They later moved to Odessa in 1957. Three children were produced from this union, Debra Sutton, Donna Bryant and Henry Rand, Jr.
Henry gave his life to Christ at an early age, and served faithfully until his health begin to fail. He will be remembered as a kind, funny and loving father, grandfather and friend. He attended Odessa College and received a certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning while working for Phillips Petroleum Oil Company. He retired in the early 2000's from Texas Tech Health Science Center.
Henry is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Rand, his parents, Riley and Easter Masters Rand, his sister, Bertha Jernigan and brother, Riley Rand, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Donna Rand Bryant and Debra Sutton, one son, Henry Rand, Jr., two sisters, Dorothy Moore of Abilene, TX., Ruth Rheams (Albert Rheams) of De Soto, TX., Sister-in-law, Celestine Rand. Grandchildren: Patrick Field, Anetra Fields, Terri (Camaron) Wynn, Ebony Fields, Tramaine (Tracie) Butler, Douwann Sutton, Dara Ray, Sheree Johnson, Emily Maney, Ashley (Mason) Hicks, Claire and Johnny Barry, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
