Ida Martinez

Ida Talamantez Martinez, 72 of Odessa, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 in Odessa.

Visitation will be held 9am to 9pm Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary recited at 7pm.
A Funeral mass will be Celebrated at 9am on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Bernardito Getigan officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in the Odessa II Section. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.

Ida Talamantez Martinez was born in Pecos Texas to Luis & Guadalupe Garcia Talamantez on October 4, 1945. She went to school at Santa Rosa Catholic School, she graduated from Pecos High School in 1964.

She worked as a Child Nutrition Manager for ECISD for 34 years and retired then worked 4 years at St. Mary's Catholic School as a Nutrition Manager.

Ida is preceded in death by her brother Luis Jr Talamantez and her father Luis Talamantez her daughter Angelica Segovia and brother in law Joe Sosa and her mother Guadalupe Talamantez.

Ida is survived by Son Daniel Segovia and Daughters Rebecca Segovia and Karina Segovia and Sandie, Mandie and Brandie Segovia, and sons Pancho Pineda, Artie Martinez, Pedro Jr. Martinez. Her sisters Irma Sosa and Linda Apodaca and her husband Pete Apodaca, Brother Roger Talamantez and his wife Dora Talamantez. Ida was also grandmother and mother to Rigo, Candace, Dante, Leo, Leon, Haley, Adriel, Rey and Liberty Flores. And grandmother of 12 others and had 14 great-Grandchildren. With only God daughter Jannette Ortiz.

Pallbearers will be (Rigo and Leo Flores, Erick Galindo (for Erick & Edgar) Timothy Romo, David Bernal, Oscar Jr. Galindo, Steven Ramirez and Joe Luis Sosa.
Ida made sure every child was feed so any memorials may be given to all ECISD Child Nutrition Services.

We wish to give our sincere thanks to all the doctors and staff at Medical Center Hospital for all the wonderful loving care given to your beloved mother. And to the staff at Martinez Funeral Home for your compassion and gratitude during this time for us.
