Irma H. Chavez

La Sra. Irma Hernández Chávez, de la Odessa, TX fallecio el dia 1 de Febrero 2024 a la edad de 78 años, en su hogar, rodeada de sus seres queridos. 

 La Sr. Irma nació en Puliquez, Chihuahua, Mexico al Sr. Salvador Hernandez y Sra. Virginia Brito, el 7 de Mayo 1945.  Ella contrajo matrimonio con el Sr. Antonio Chavez Zapien el 5 de Agosto 1967 en la ciudad de Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. Trabajaba como ama de casa y dedicaba todo su tiempo y amor a su familia. Fue bien conocida por sus asaderos caseros y por su cariño por escuchar música.  Disfrutaba pasar tiempo al aire libre cuidando sus plantas. Toda su familia y amigos la recordarán por su dulce sonrisa y su actitud cariñosa.

 Irma es precedida en la muerte por su esposo, Antonio Chavez Zapien, sus padres Salvador y Virginia Herandez, sus hermanos Salvador Hernandez y Jesus Hernandez

 A la Sr. Irma le sobreviven sus hijos: Miguel Chavez (Elizabeth). Gerardo Chavez (Angela), Rodolfo Chavez (Adriana Guerrero), Albessa Chavez.  Sus nietos: Candida Mendoza (Gregory Mendoza), Charlene Burbage (Jason Burbage), Cindy Caballero (Joe Caballero), Ines Chavez, Maria Chavez, Gabriella Cleveland (Casey Cleveland), Bianca Chavez, Andra Chaparro, Eduardo Chaparro, Jesenia Chavez, Eliana Chvez y Fernando Chavez. Sus bisnietos: Marlie Mendoza, Brooklyn Mendoza, Ryder Mendoza, Drayson Burbage, Gabriel Caballero, Camila Caballero, Alonzo Jimenez y Analia Cleveland. Tambien le sobreviven sus hermanos: Oscar, Hernandez, Salvador Hernandez, Romelia Quiros, Alfredo Hernandez, Samuel Hernandez, Gustabo Hernandez, Rosa Hernandez y Leticia Ramirez. 

 El horario de visitacion se llevara acabo el Domingo, 4 de Febrero 2024, de 1PM-9 PM y el Lunes, 5 de Febrero, de 9AM-9PM con el rosario a las 7PM en Martinez Funeral Home. 

 Se celebrará la misa fúnebre, el Martes, 6 de Febrero 2024, a las 10 AM, en la Iglesia Catoilca San Jose (St. Joseph Catholic Church) oficiada por el Padre Carlos Rodriguez.

 El entierro se realizará en el cementerio Ector County Cemetery en la seccion Los Angeles.

 Los portadores del feretro seran los hijos de la La Sra. Irma: Miguel Chavez, Gerardo Chavez y Rodolfo Chavez, sus hermanos: Salvador Hernandez, Samuel Hernandez y Gustavo Hernandez.  Portadores honorarios: Fernando Chavez y Eduardo Chapararro.

Irma Hernández Chávez, 78, of Odessa, Texas passed away on February 1st, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones in her home. 

 Irma was born in Puliquez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Salvador Hernandez and Virginia Brito on May 7th, 1945. She married Antonio Chavez Zapien on August 5th, 1967, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. She worked as a homemaker and dedicated all her time and love to her family.

She was well known for her homemade asaderos and for her love of listening to music. She enjoyed spending time outside caring for her plants. She will be remembered by all her family and friends for her sweet smile and nurturing ways.

 Irma is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Chavez Zapien, parents, Salvador and Virginia Hernandez, siblings, Salvador Hernandez, and Jesus Hernandez.

 Irma is survived by her children, Miguel Chavez (Elizabeth Chavez), Gerardo Chavez (Angela Chavez), Rodolfo Chavez (Adriana Guerrero), Albessa Chavez, her grandchildren, Candida Mendoza (Gregory Mendoza), Charlene Burbage (Jason Burbage), Cindy Caballero (Joe Caballero), Ines Chavez, Maria Chavez, Gabriella Cleveland (Casey Cleveland), Bianca Chavez, Andra Chaparro, Eduardo Chaparro, Jesenia Chavez, Eliana Chavez and Fernando Chavez, great grandchildren, Marlie Mendoza, Brooklynn Mendoza, Ryder Mendoza, Drayson Burbage, Gabriel Caballero, Camila Caballero, Alonzo Jimenez, and Analia Cleveland, her siblings Oscar Hernandez, Salvador Hernandez, Romelia Quiroz, Alfredo Hernandez, Samuel Hernandez, Gustavo Hernandez, Rosa Hernandez, Leticia Ramirez.

 Visitation is set for Sunday February 4, 2024, from 1PM-9PM and Monday February 5, 2024, from 9AM –9 PM with a rosary at 7PM at Martinez Funeral Home.

 Mass will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday February 6, 2024, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Carlos Rodriguez officiating.

 Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in the Los Angeles section.

 The pallbearers will be her sons Miguel Chavez, Gerardo Chavez and Rodolfo Chavez and her brothers Salvador Hernandez, Samuel Hernandez, and Gustavo Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers are Fernando Chavez and Eduardo Chaparro. 

 The family of Irma wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Star Hospice, Nurse Yesenia, Nurse Irene, the staff at Texas Oncology, Martinez Funeral Home, Holy Redeemer Parish, and St. Joseph’s Parish.
