Irma Sosa

Irma Talamantez Sosa, 73, of Odessa, passed away on March 9, 2020 in Odessa, TX.

Visitation will be 6pm-9pm Thursday, March 12, 2020 and 9am-9pm Friday March 13, 2020 with Rosary being held at 7pm at Martinez Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, March 14, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Timothy Hayter, officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery – Los Angeles Section. Arrangements are made by Martinez Funeral Home.

Irma was born in Pecos, Texas to Louis and Lupe Talamantez on September 17, 1946. She went to school at Pecos High School. She married the love of her life, Joe Sosa, on November 15, 1964 in Pecos. She worked for the food service of Ector County ISD for 35 years serving Odessa’s children. She was a lover of travel, reading, and western movies.

Irma is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sosa; her infant son, Thomas; her mother, Lupe Talamantez; her sister, Ida Martinez; and her nephew, Danny Segovia.

Irma is survived by her son, Joe Louis Sosa and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Sosa; daughter, Jannette Sosa Ortiz and son-in-law, Abel Ortiz; her brother, Roger Talamantez; and sister, Linda Apodaca; 7 grandchildren, Stacey Sherman, Kristian Sherman, Jordan Sosa, Morgan Sosa, Abel Jr. Ortiz, Angelica Ortiz, and Mason Sosa;  2 great-grandchildren, Leia Sosa and Kayden Sherman.

Pallbearers will be Kristian Sherman, Abel Jr. Ortiz, Tyler Baker, Shaquille Ontiveros, Robert Romo Jr., and Alonzo Ramirez.  Memorials may be given to Martinez Funeral Home. The family of Irma wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Home Hospice and our extended family for their support during this time.
