Jackie Lee McCoy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, in McGregor, Texas. Born on May 22, 1950, in Lamesa, Texas, to Jack McCoy and Helen McCoy. Jackie lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to both god & his family.

Jackie was a man of many passions. He had a profound love for working on and detailing cars, a hobby that brought him immense joy and allowed him to share his expertise with those around him. His appreciation for music added another layer to his vibrant personality, enriching his life and the lives of those he interacted with. He was a man of few words but provided lots of wisdom and discerning spirit. He loved clothes with a passion and was a very sharp dresser!

In 1988 he accepted his calling as a man of God and to serve the Lord’s army. For over 30 years, Jackie served as a Pastor at Jesus Christ Outreach in Lubbock, Texas, where he dedicated his time to guiding and uplifting his congregation. His commitment extended beyond the church, as he often preached in Crane, Texas, but also sharing his message of love and faith at Bethlehem Baptist Church of Odessa, Texas. 

On September 22, 2010 he married his surviving wife Linda McCoy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack McCoy his mother Helen Calloway, brothers, Terry McCoy and Carl McCoy sisters Florence rowdy, Mcgruder Beatrice, and Betty McCoy

He is survived step father by, Richard Callaway of Odessa; Sisters Ethel McGruder, Betty McCoy, Carolyn Youngblood Spencer (victor Spencer), Dorothy Rangel, Kaye McCoy, Kathy McCoy and Linda McCoy, all of Odessa and Judy Terrell (Levi Terrell ) of Dallas. Survived Children; Jaculynn Roshelle McCoy and JacQie Marguerite McCoy, and Grandchildren: Terrail Lee Dixon, Jaculynn Roshelle McCoy, and Major Shederin Davis. 

A true family man, Jackie cherished his loved ones and was always eager to lend a helping hand or offer support. His kind-hearted nature and unwavering faith reflected his deep love for God and the people in his life.

Jackie's legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of his remarkable life. A visitation will be held on December 29, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Wake at 7:00 PM, both taking place at Martinez Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 1040 S Dixie Blvd, Odessa, TX 79761. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Baptist Church, situated at 1000 W Clements St, Odessa, TX 79763 with Ellis Lane Officiating and Music by Mary Ellis.

Jackie Lee McCoy will be dearly missed, yet his spirit will forever be with those who were fortunate enough to experience his kindness and wisdom.
