Jaime Olvera

May 31, 1967 — September 7, 2017

Jaime Castro Olvera, 50, of Odessa was met at the gates of heaven by God's loving embrace on Thursday, September 7, 2017.
Jaime was born on May 31, 1967 in Long Beach, California to Jaime S. Olvera and Mercedes Alicia Castro. He attended and graduated from Ysleta High School in El Paso on June 5, 1987. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. As a young man he organized and managed the swap meets in various locations such as at Fox Plaza in El Paso and this included the transportation and delivery of shoes. This brought him on various occasions to Presidio, Texas. During one of these transports to Presidio in April 1994, he met the love of his life and the woman that was to become his soulmate and best friend. This was the beginning of a whirlwind love story. Just a few months later, December 10, 1994, Jaime and Nancy H. Armendariz were married in Presidio. Their union was blessed with two children, Jaime A. Olvera and Isabella A. Olvera. From that moment on, Jaime's dedication and entire reason for existence was his family.
Jaime enjoyed grilling and was quite proud of his ribs. He and Nancy and their two kids grilled outside often and enjoyed their time together. He also enjoyed watching his Dallas Cowboys play. These were special times he enjoyed with his son. On many nights, he and Nancy would go out driving around town listening to music, singing and laughing. Jaime was also an extremely hard-working man. By trade, Jaime worked in the pipeline industry and as a rig mover. He enjoyed his career path and took great pride in his work. Above all, Jaime was a God fearing man.
He was selfless, family oriented, dedicated, very intelligent, wise, brave, loving and respectful. Jaime was loved by many and will be missed dearly. Jaime's passing has left a void in our hearts but we are comforted by the beautiful memories that will live forever and the promise that he is now in God's care.
Jaime is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents as well as his father-in-law that loved him like a son.
Those left to cherish his memory is the love of his life, his wife Nancy, his children Jaime A. Olvera and Isabella A. Olvera; parents Jaime S. Olvera and Mercedes Alicia Olvera; sisters Gloria Camacho and Raquel Nunez and many ants, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
