Elder Jake D. Stuart, 75, of Odessa, passed away on September 30, 2014 in Odessa.
Visitation on Tuesday, Oct. 07, 2014 will be all day at Martinez Funeral Home. The wake will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 09, 2014 at 7:00pm.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00am Oct. 09, 2014 at Living Vision Church with Elder J.D. Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Ector Cemetery in Peaceful Gardens. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
Jake Stuart was born in Big Creek, TX to H.T. and Mary Stuart on June 06, 1939. He married Laura B Lawrence on February 13, 1964 in Odessa, TX. He worked as an inspector for Miether Bearing Inc. for over 35 years. He was involved with the Kingdom Gathering District. Also the Pastor of Faith Temple 2 COGIC in Monahans, TX. For over 25 years.
Elder Stuart is preceded in death by a son John Lyle Morrison, father Harrison T. Stuart, Mother Mary Lee Kemp Stuart and brother Alton Norris Stuart.
Elder Stuart is survived by Wife Laura B Stuart of Odessa, TX Daughter Laura and husband Joel Shorter of Odessa, TX: daughter Carla D. Stuart of Marlin TX Son Jerry Williams of Marlin, TX and Daughter: Linda Taylor of Lubbock, TX. Also Brothers: Rev. Harrison Thomas Stuart, Jr. and wife Willie Dell Stuart of Missouri City, TX, Rev. Charles Cecil Stuart wife Teresa of Abilene, TX, Elder Marvin Ellis Stuart wife Lana Jean of Houston, TX, Harold Stuart wife Claudia of Amarillo, TX, Albert Louis Stuart of Denver, CO, Larry Donnell Stuart wife Annette of Dallas, TX. Sisters: Carrie Blondell Simon of San Angelo, TX, Margaret Joyce Baton of Los Angeles, CA, Mildred Jean Tate of Houston, TX, Myrtle Frances Rogers of Forest, city,Arkansas and SisterNiece Rose Mary Hammond of Odessa, TX. Grandchildren: Contessa Haynes, Yarsheka Milligan, Iresha Brown, Nicole Harris, Joel Shorter, Shereika Starling, Elmo D. Starling, Christopher L. Starling, DAnthony Turman, Alex and Ashley Williams, Anyla Williams, Jeremy Taylor and a host of great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Tobar, Richard Covington, Minister Herbert Crisp, Jr, Marcus Brown, Elder Herbert Crisp, Sr., and Minister Reggie Brown.
Memorials may be given to Laura Stuart. The family of Elder Stuart wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Dar, Dr. Reddy, StarCare Nurses Hospice Care Team and Medical Center Hospital.
