James “JJ” Edward Green, II, was born on January 31, 1983, in Odessa, Texas to the late Jessie
Jean Woods and James Edward Green I, he graduated from Permian High School in 2001. After
graduating high school, James continued his education at LeMoyne–Owen College. He was
very involved in various organizations during his college tenure; in 2003 he was initiated into the
Beta Xi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. Shortly after receiving his bachelor's degree in 2005, James relocated to Cedar Bluff, AL.
James later moved to Birmingham, AL to begin a new career. He was employed within the administration department of Miles College, where he coached the Miles College Golden Stars dance team. Upon his departure, James became employed by Dwell & Décor Outdoor in Calera, AL. as a Human Resource Administrator, where he was ultimately promoted to Sr. Director of Distribution & Transportation, for the North American Division. Throughout this promotion he was recognized for his dedication, contribution, and tenure within the organization, ultimately making his family and friends proud.
Although James resided far from his hometown, this did not keep him from traveling to see his loved ones and friends in Odessa, TX. He was known to be a very loving, caring, and family-oriented man who never ceased to meet a stranger. James expressed his inspiration of artistry through his love for dance and interior design. Anyone that had the pleasure to be around J.J, knew that he was a Beyoncé FANATIC. To say that James was loved by many near and far, would be an understatement.
While residing in Odessa, TX, James was a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church where he loved to praise the Lord and fellowship amongst family and friends. In Alabama, he remained a faithful member of New Life Christian Church (Pastor Michael & First Lady Jennifer Terrell).
James entered his eternal rest on Friday, March 11, 2022. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, grandparents; George and Dorothy Woods, mother, Jessie Jean Woods, aunts; Linda Prince, Cynthia Patterson, Jerlene (Jewell) Edwards - Scott, Arica Green, Uncle; Ronnie Moten.
James is survived by his father, James Green I, of Wiggins, MS.; his brother, Gregory (DeShonna) Adams II; his sister, Briane Woods, both of Odessa, TX, his aunts; Doris (Paul) Smith; Amarillo, TX ;Sherley Taylor of Odessa, TX; Gloria Calicutt (Morris) of Odessa, TX; Felicia (Lisa) Grant of San Diego, CA and Wanda Green of Wiggins, MS; his uncles, Preston (Joyce) Eugene Cockerham Sr. of Midland, TX; DaVesh Green of Wiggins, MS; his Special nephews Demazio'n Woods and Javariane Beck, both of Odessa, TX; Special Cousins/Siblings; Anthony Taylor, Trivia (Bill) Baty, Odessa, TX , Lifelong Friend; Prenthie Ray, Odessa, TX , his step-father Eric Lewis of Odessa, TX; Godmother; Justine Cooke of Demopolis, AL, as well as a host of cousins, in-laws, friends, and colleagues -- all of which he loved and touched deeply
