Janet Elaine Baker was born on January 26, 1956 in Pecos, TX, the eldest child of Peggy Cole and James Chick.
Janet was a creator and was full of imagination, which served her well as she raised her three children with her first husband, Steve Ham: Randy, Sarah and Naché. While living in Ft. Stockton, TX, Janet was a founding member of the Ft. Stockton Community Theatre, for which she performed and directed several productions, as well as serving on the board of directors. Janet and her children were also active in the Ft. Stockton Water Carnival (which must be seen to be believed).
Janet married Eddie Baker in 1988 and soon after relocated to Dayton, NV. She continued using her creative talents as a volunteer and then staff at Nevada Day, the official holiday of the State of Nevada. In her spare time she became a Naughty Tea Mistress (don’t ask) with her group of friends from the Carson City area.
Eddie passed away on October 1, 2023, and Janet followed on October 10, 2023. Janet is preceded in death by her mother and father, and brother James Chick, Jr. She is survived by her three children Randy Ham and his partner Tom Hubble of Odessa, Sarah Deen of Wichita Falls, Nache Ham of Sulphur Springs, two grandchildren, Tessa Deen & Blake Deen of Abilene, sister Judy Beaulier of Marietta, GA, step-brothers Todd Patton of San Antonio, TX and Sam Patton of Lubbock TX.
