Jerrye Miller

March 6, 1936 — January 11, 2016

Jerrye L. Miller was called to rest in the arms of her Lord and Saviour on January 10, 2016 at age 79.
She was born on March 6, 1936 to George and Golla Mae Terrell in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
services are with Martinez Funeral Home under the direction of Funeral Directors Tony Lujan & Nancy Olvera.
Visitation will be held on Friday January 15,2016 from 9 A.M to 9 P.M at Martinez Funeral Home.
Church Service will be held on Saturday January 16,2016 at 1 P.M at Living Word Ministries.
Interment will follow at Sunset memorial gardens.

She grew up in Mt. Pleasnat and attended Booker T. Washington High School where
she graduated as the "Most Studious Girl.
In 1960 she moved to Odessa and on December 18, 1961 she married Louis James (Red) Miller.
In early 1961 Jerrye joined Carter Chapel CME Church and served in many ministries of the church,
especially decorating the sanctuary, building improvements and serving on auxiliaries.
Jerrye loved Carter Chapel and spoke often of the fun fellowships with all of the members.
Jerrye was a member and officer of the 64 Silver Leaf Civic and Federated Women's Club
and worked tirelessly through the years supporting community, social and civic events.

For more than 40 years she worked at Harrison Wholesale. Jerrye had a strong work ethic and was available
to work in whatever capacity was needed.
Over the years she made an abundance of personal and work relationships with her co-workers,
customers and the owners, Ron and Linda Harrison. She worked with Harrison Wholesale until January 2014.

Jerrye is preceded in death by her parents, Champ and Golla Mae Sherwood and, her husband, Louis James Miller.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children: Charlene Baker, Mesquite, Charles Baker (Tamika) Glenn Heights,
Earlene Quinn (James) Grand Prairie, Kathy Miller, Odessa, GayNeal Baker, Abilene, Zenda Rivers, Austin, and Anthony Miller (Pam), Dallas.
She has 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory 2 aunts,
Faye Younger of Houston and Jessie Mae Goodman of Dallas and 2 cousins, Lonnie Charles Bell and Sandra Goodman.
