Joe Ramirez, Jr. Passed from this Life and Entered Eternal Rest on April 12,2018 in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born in Ozona, Texas to Angela and Joe Ramirez, Sr. on August 6, 1936.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Wednesday April 25, 2018 at 9 am in Odessa Texas. Inurnment burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in the "Old Odessa Gardens Section"
He attended schools in Odessa, Texas. He graduated from Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas.
He taught school in Marathon, Port Lavaca, Eagle Pass and Odessa, Texas before becoming an Administrator in Ector County Independent School District at Goldsmith Elementary, Zavala Elementary, and Alamo Elementary.
He worked in ECISD for 28 years.
After retirement, Joe Ramirez was a Teacher Evaluator throughout the school district. He also taught English and Citizenship classes for Odessa College in the Adult Education program.
He was a Veteran, and served in the Army.
He was one of the original Board members of MASC (Mexican American Scholarship Committee).
Joe is preceded in death by six siblings.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Antonia Ramirez, Joe Ramirez lll, Alex Ramirez, and Joe Paul Ramirez and spouse, Felicia Ramirez; Brothers, Efrain Ramirez and spouse Rita, and Robert Ramirez; Sisters, Ruth Ramirez and Mary Conlon
Grand children, Mekhi and Auvrey Ramirez, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
