Johnie Shorter

Johnie Ruth Shorter, 77, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Hospice House. She was born April 1, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant, TX to Raymond Mittie Standoke Minter.

She worked as an auto mechanic and was a Jehovahs Witness.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lethaniel Shorter son, Alan Shorter, and 2 twin boys daughters, Kora Shorter and Ora Shorter one brother five sisters and granddaughter, Priscilla Shorter.

She is survived by her sons, Joel Paulette Shorter and Willie Ray Ada Shorter, both of Odessa daughters, Viella Tess Mitchell, Johnnie L. OrumShorter, Evelyn NaylorShorter, Alice BrownShorter, Esther TatumShorter, Barbara Ann Strauss McCreary, and Sherry Dannette Shorter, all of Odessa 25 grandchildren 75 greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 9 AM 9 PM at MartinezSmith Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10 AM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness at 321 N. Adams with Benito Ramos officiating. Burial will follow at the Peaceful Gardens section of the Ector County Cemetery.
