Johnny Blaine Dunn, 62, of Midland Texas, went home to be with the Lord on August 11th 2018 in Midland Texas.
A memorial celebrating of his life will be held at Crestview Baptist Church 301 Loop 250 Frontage Rd, Midland, Texas 79703 on Saturday August the 25th at 10:00 am.
Johnny was born in Seminole, Texas to David Carrol Dunn and Jennie Elizabeth Dunn on April 1, 1956.
Johnny married Elia Huertas in January 2008.
Johnny was known to many as JD. He graduated from Andrews High School in 1974. Johnny loved the rodeo life. Throughout his high school years he rode bulls and when he was not riding bulls he was the rodeo clown protecting other bull riders. After high school he went on and was a professional rodeo clown at the PRCA level. Later on in his life he was very instrumental in helping other young men learn to ride bulls including his two boys John and Bryan Dunn. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was interested in their activities.
He worked as a welder after high school and he went on to design and build cooling towers. At the time of his death he was working in construction and was self-employed.
Johnny is preceded in death by his father David Dunn.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Ellie Dunn; son John Dunn and wife Sunni of Midland; daughter Rene' Pilfold and husband Travis of Greenwood; son Bryan Dunn of Midland; mother June Dunn Cornett and husband Duane of Seagraves; brother David Dunn and wife Donna of Odessa; sister Shirley Johnson and husband Berry of Andrews, sister Martha Floyd and husband Weldon of Graham; brother Tony Dunn and wife Vanessa of Odessa; brother Billy Dunn and wife Stormie of Grape Creek; grandchildren Logan Dunn, Skyler Dunn, Karsyn Dunn, Kinley Dunn of Midland; Brady Robbins, Nolan Kirby, River Pilfold of Greenwood; Bryan Dunn Jr. and Brene' Dunn of Midland.
Flowers can be sent to Crestview Baptist Church 301 Loop 250 Frontage Rd, Midland Texas, 79703 on Friday August 24th from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm or on Saturday August 25th between 8:30 am and 9:00 am.
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Hospice of Midland and to the nurses of Midland Memorial Oncology floor for the wonderful care.
