Jose Montano

Jose E. Montano, 70 years, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019 in Odessa, Texas.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 1pm to 9pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Martinez Funeral Home.

Mass will be held at 10am on Monday, July 29, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick officiating. A private cremation will follow. Arrangements are under Martinez Funeral Home and Crematory.

Jose was born in Aldama, Chihuahua on January 2, 1949 to Jose Montano and Maria Rubalcalba. He married Esther Miranda on January 6, 1968 in Chihuahua, Chih. He worked in the oil field industry pulling units.  He loved to watch his oldest son, Joe play pool.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria Montano.

Jose leaves to cherish his memory his wife Esther Montano; sons Joe Montano, Luis Montano and wife Carol; daughter Sandra and husband Albert Rojero, Gladys and husband Alvaro Rocha; sons Rigo Montano, Cesar Montano and wife Sauzen; brothers Vicente Montano and Rodrigo Montano; sisters Estella Montano, Sarah Varela, and Socorro Flores; 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Montano, Angel Rojero, Brandon Montano, Damian Martinez, Luis Montano, Cesar Montano, Christian Rocha and Alejandro Rocha.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Brown, Ivan Montano, Rigo Montano and Ralph Lira Montano.

The family would like to thank Dr. Martin Ortega, Dr. James Li, Triple C, Jennifer, Audrey, LuAnn and special thanks to Jessica Soto, Medical Center Hospital and Home Hospice.
