Jose Gavaldon Olivas, 77 of Odessa TX passed away on August 13, 2014 In Lubbock TX.
Rosary will be held at 7:30 PM on Monday August 18, 2014 at Martinez Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday August 19, 2014 at St Josephs Church.
With Father Lorenzo Hatch Officiating.
Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
Jose was born in Coyame Chih Mexico to Severo S, Olivas and Paula G Olivas on August 26,1936
He married Maria Elena Nena Ortega on January 31,1972 in Ventura Ca. he was a laborer all his life.
Jose is preceded in death by his father Severo S, Olivas, mother Paula G, Olivas and son Rudy Olivas.
Jose is survived by his wife Maria Elena Nena Olivas Son Sam Olivas of Odessa and daughters Elvira Martinez of Pecos TX, Liz Mendez, Hilda Ruiz, Lori Olivas of Odessa.
Brothers Efren Olivas of Las Cruces N M, Rey Olivas of Seguin TX, Jesse Olivas of Oxnard CA, David Olivas of Hobbs NM, and Arturo Natividad of Oxnard CA. Sisters Manuela Duarte of Apple Valley, CA
Gregoria Ulate of Odessa , Adela Mireles of Buckeye, Az, Pilar Ramirez of Fresno CA,
Yolanda Olivas of Oxnard CA, Francis Hernandez of Pico Rivera CA, and Ana Maria Flores of Houston.
Grandchildren Jason Martinez, Monica Ramirez, Imelda Mendez, PJ Contreras, Brandi Mendez, Joel Ruiz Jr, Dahlia Ruiz, Marisela Ruiz, Marina Contreras, and Joe Angel Ruiz and
ten great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his brother Arturo Natividad, Cousin Chayo Jasso, and Grandsons
Jason Martinez, PJ Contreras, Joel Ruiz Jr, and Joe Angel Ruiz.
