Joseph Richard Llora was born to Jose Luis and Margaret Carroll Llora on February 27,
1952 in Manila, Philippines. He spent his early childhood years in the Philippines and Guam.
Joseph had a deep love for the islands and spoke often about returning to share the places from
his childhood memories with his family.
Joseph and his family moved to the United States when he was a teenager. He
graduated from Permian High School in 1970 and joined the US Air Force, where he quickly
rose to the rank of Sergeant. After serving his tour of duty in England, he returned to Odessa
where he met and married the love of his life, Vicki Wade. They were married October 14th,
1978. Together, they built a life in West Texas. On November 19th of 1980, they welcomed a
son - Sean Alonzo-Samuel Llora. The family of three lead a beautiful life here in West Texas.
Joseph loved his life in West Texas. He enjoyed working for Bass Enterprises (BOPCO),
where he retired after 32 years. He loved watching wrestling with his son, bowling, and football.
He had a passion for helping youth that was easily seen by his time spent volunteering with the
youth group, and his readiness to accept exchange students into his home. In later years, he
loved playing fantasy football, watching his grandkids soccer games, helping teach art to
elementary students, and going to the beach with his sisters. He told everyone that he loved
getting to grow old with his bride, Vicki. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his Mother, Margaret C. Roets and his Stepfather, Edward J. Roets.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Llora. Son, Sean Llora and his wife Chandra of Midland,
Texas. Sisters: Florence Llora, Maria Pennington, Adriana and husband Russell McDonald (all
of New Braunfels, TX) and his sister Yolanda and husband Jim Couch of Willis, Texas. He is
also survived by his four sweet Grandchildren, Mikah, Isaac, Brennyn and Tobias Llora of
Midland, Texas.
